That’s The Name of My Band

As promised, we did it!

When we started Spitball Sessions, one of the things it was founded on was our fascination with game design and respect for designers. Luke and I said several times over the years that we wanted to put our money where our mouth was – not just discuss merits of hypothetical designs, but to actually use that as inspiration to make our own games. Today, I’m happy to announce that we have managed to achieve the first step in that dream.

At last, Spitball Studios would like announce our first finished game: “That’s The Name of My Band”!

TTNMB is a quick-pitch game, inspired by games like Pitchstorm and Channel A – where players use their cards and creativity to make bands and songs to satisfy the requests of Record Executives.

The game is finished and we look forward to showing more about it soon, once we’re able to secure either funding or a publisher.

And of course, this being Spitball Sessions, keep an eye on the podcast feed because I’ll be doing a couple of episodes soon about how and why I started working on the game, things I’ve learned from the project, and other things people might find interesting.

“My band’s name is Platypus Orchestra, and we’ve got a hit single called ‘On the Bottom of the World’.”
